BARONSDOWN SPECIAL EDITION

Stunning 16.2hh | 7yo | Irish Draught X | Bay Gelding

By Carrigfada Grey Mist

A truly heartbreaking sale of a very special horse who has been part of my life since he was just five months old.

Louie is a stunning, quality 16.2hh 7-year-old Irish Draught X gelding with three beautiful paces, a wonderful temperament and an enormous amount still to give.

I bought Louie when he was just two weeks old and he came home to me at five months. Since then, he has been given the time to grow, mature and develop slowly, without ever being rushed.

Louie is an absolute pleasure to have around and genuinely one of the easiest horses I have ever known.

He is incredibly affectionate and a real character on the yard. He loves people, thrives on attention and is straightforward to handle, he is good for the farrier, vet and loading.

He hacks alone and in company and is absolutely fantastic in open spaces. He is never strong or hot-headed — you can have a gallop across an open field, bring him back within seconds and have him trotting along quietly again.

He is good in traffic, although he can occasionally be spooky at something completely insignificant.

Louie has been slowly and carefully produced and has a lovely foundation to build upon.

He has three beautiful, expressive paces, is light in the hand, incredibly willing and a very quick learner. He always wants to please and gives you a wonderful feeling when schooling.

He has been reasonably schooled but is now at the stage where somebody could really step up his education and develop him into something special.

I genuinely believe he could have a fantastic future in dressage or the show ring, with the quality, presence and temperament to turn heads.

This is not an easy sale and finding the right person is far more important to me than simply selling him.

I feel he would particularly suit a confident teenager or adult, somebody looking for their next best friend, or potentially a mother/daughter share.

He could equally suit somebody wanting a quality horse to continue producing for dressage/showing, or simply someone wanting a genuinely lovely all-round horse to enjoy and progress with.

He has so much personality, affection and ability to give the right person.

Serious enquiries only please.

Plenty of pictures and videos available upon request.

17hh | 4yo | ID x ISH | Palomino

Lucy is now AVAILABLE to the right home only. 🏡

She is going to make a MEGA horse, but please remember she is ONLY 4 and still VERY early in her education. She is absolutely NOT a ready-made competition horse.

She has not been rushed, and her education has been built steadily and correctly.

She is currently:

💙 Hacking out in traffic

💙 Walk, trot & canter in the school

💙 Riding confidently in open fields — where a lot of her education has started!

💙 Now successfully been out to her first outing

💙 Taking everything in her stride and proving herself to be incredibly sensible for her age

Lucy is an absolute unit and is only going to get bigger and stronger, so she needs a confident, capable home who is experienced handling and riding big young horses.

She needs someone who is looking for a horse they can continue to produce and put their own stamp on. The foundations are there — now she needs the right person to continue her education.

She does have a small blemish on her hind leg, which means she would not be suitable for higher-level showing. She has been checked by the vet and cleared with no expected issues.

Personally, I think she could make an absolute cracking eventer, hunter or all-round riding horse with the right person. 🤩

And honestly… if she could stay, she would.

She really is a special one, and her owner is VERY aware of just how much I like her! 😂😂

Lucy will continue her education with us until she finds her new 🏠, but please be aware that her 💰 will increase as her education and experience progress.

Lady Fia

15.3hh 4 year old stunning dun Connemara x Irish Draft Mare.

This lovely eye catching young horse has all the attributes to make a top class RC horse/ Working Hunter / competitive amateurs horse or young riders.

Fia is nicely bred, has lovely confirmation and is a real classy stamp of a horse. Uphill and light to the contact.

She has 3 good paces and although green as only young is proving to have a careful athletic jump and will be quite flashy in the dressage ring.

Full history known.

She came over from Ireland as a 2 year old - direct from breeder and has been in the same home since.

Professionally backed at the start of this year and has continued her education at home and has been to professional yards for further schooling in between.

She has done lots of hacking and hacks alone and in company. She is good in traffic including farm / heavy machinery. She is bold and confident.

Fia has more recently began her education in the arena and over jumps, she has attended arena hires/clinics and in August attended a stay away 3 day camp at Kelsall Hill, where she took it in her stride and progressed well, with lots of new experiences to take in all weekend.

She has just been out to do her first Intro dressage test gaining 63% and a placing!

Fia is a kind horse and has had a correct start to her education, she is however only 4 and still green, she has plenty of presence and quality and would be best suited to a knowledgeable home looking for a lovely young horse to produce further in any sphere.

Now ready to start her next chapter where she can reach her full potential.

Very reluctant sale only due to change in circumstances.

Worzel is the sort of horse who very rarely comes on the market. A genuinely talented, kind and incredibly versatile horse, he is very sadly available to a new family after 8 wonderful years with his current family, who have made the difficult decision due to having started a family and no longer having the time he deserves. We actually brought Worzel over from Ireland 8 years ago and he has genuinely never put a foot wrong. I wish we could clone him.

You name it — Worzel has done it!

✅ Hunted over in Ireland when younger and then every season since with a lady rider. An absolute gentleman to hunt. Mainly hunted with the Vale of Lune

✅ Hunter trials

✅ Working hunter

✅ Dressage competitions

✅ Jumped in Ireland to 1.10m

✅ Fun rides

✅ Beach rides

Worzel is a talented horse who makes everything feel easy. He is wonderfully genuine, sensible and fills his rider with confidence while still having plenty of ability and scope to go out and be competitive.

His flatwork is lovely, with established changes, and he is equally happy working in the arena or heading out for a day’s adventure.

Over a fence, he is incredibly confidence-giving and doesn’t bat an eyelid at fillers or solid fences. He has previously jumped to 1.10m and has the ability to do considerably more.

What makes Worzel particularly special, though, is his attitude. He is just as happy going out hunting or competing as he is enjoying a quieter life of hacking, dressage and having fun with his rider.

After 8 years together, this is an understandably difficult sale for his owner. Finding Worzel the right family is very important. He will only go to someone who will appreciate just how special he is and enjoy everything he has to offer.

15’3 Chestnut Gelding TBxID. About to turn 5.

I keep putting this off, however it’s really time where Charlie needs someone to enjoy making him the horse he is destined to be.

I bought Charlie from Ireland with not the intention of keeping him forever, but with the intention to get him to a good place to be able to be ready to join a loving family. I never bought him with the intention to ride, also just to allow him time to grow and develop into his own body.

He was a scrawny boy when he first arrived and have just allowed him time, he was meant to be 4 however to me and the dentist we agreed that he was a very late of year foal, so he would be coming on 5 fairly soon I’d say, going off his passport he would have been 5 1/1

He was backed in Ireland and turned away and I did do lots of ground work in February as that is key and had a friend school for a couple sessions and i hacked him out once just to get a little feel for him and since then turned away again as he was bum high, still abit bum high to grow, so as I say he has just been allowed this time to develop into himself without any pressure at all. He proved to be a very sweet boy and a good learner.

He is a typical baby where he wants to lick you all day, sometimes a little nibble, he is just such a sweet sweet boy, I’m under no pressure to sell him as he is just enjoying life with friends being a horse.

He has front shoes on as he became abit footy in front and decided to keep him in them as good practice with the farrier and helped him get his feet in good shape.

I’m looking for someone who wants to get a horse that’s green where they can make him their own. I’m looking for someone who is kind, loving and sympathetic as he is too sweet not to have lots of love and attention.

I’ve had no medical history with him and happy to give his records, he has a crusty flat sarcoid I’m guessing just under his head, it hasn’t been confirmed but assume, it just looks like a scab, it doesn’t effect him at all and doesn’t sit where the bridle goes, so these are best left alone. Apart from that he seems to be pretty clear and clean.

He has had his teeth done twice, had standard Mctimony treatment, and anything he needs. Although I missed the date of his injection so needs starting again.

I’m in no rush and will wait for the right home, I don’t have any videos of him in work as it was in Feb where he did very little, so it would be meeting him and seeing him without being ridden as he will need starting again which I’m sure won’t take long.

He is £5,500 which is only what I paid for him plus transport.

This is an honest advert I’ve tried to give the best information as he is what he is a bit with a big heart ready to start his education

CHERRY ORCHARD SIDNEY

A genuinely exciting young horse with exceptional breeding, a fantastic temperament and the education to go on and excel in any direction.

Sid is a 5-year-old, 18.1hh Shire × Irish Draught gelding, offering the rare combination of enormous presence and substance with athleticism, movement and a genuine willingness to work.

He is sired by the Class 1/C2 Irish Draught stallion Carrigfada Diamond, himself by Grosvenor Lad and out of a Glidawn Diamond mare — a very strong Irish Draught pedigree. His official Irish Draught documentation confirms his breeding and registration, with his certificate validated by the Irish Draught Horse Society.

Sid has a full history known from birth, having been purchased directly from his breeder, and has been given a professional education throughout his ridden career.

He was professionally broken and has been professionally schooled, and is now producing good-quality flatwork with plenty of scope to continue developing as he matures.

For such a substantial horse, Sid is surprisingly athletic, forward and balanced, and has already shown himself to be much more than simply a big heavyweight.

His education and experience includes:

• Professionally broken and schooled

• Works happily in a snaffle

• Producing quality flatwork

• Has popped coloured fences

• Attended a South Durham Hunt pleasure ride, where he also popped fences and took the whole experience in his stride

• Hacks confidently alone and in company

• Good with traffic and farm machinery

• Has worked away from home

• Loads and travels well

• Settles and behaves sensibly in new environments

• Has been exposed to a variety of experiences for his age

He has a sensible, genuine attitude to his work and is proving to be the type of young horse that can be taken somewhere new and get on with the job.

Sid is still only 5 years old, and at 18.1hh he is continuing to mature, strengthen and fill out. He has a huge amount of potential ahead of him and would be an exciting horse for someone wanting to produce their own quality horse of a lifetime.

His size and presence would make him an eye-catching prospect for the show ring, whilst his movement, athleticism and willingness give him the potential to pursue a number of disciplines.

He could ultimately suit dressage, showing, jumping, hunting, eventing or simply being an exceptional all-round riding horse.

Most importantly, Sid has the temperament, education and experience to make his size manageable. He is not an untouched giant who has simply been backed — he has been professionally produced and thoughtfully introduced to the world.

At only five, he is a horse with a very exciting future rather than a finished product, giving his next owner the opportunity to continue his education and watch him develop into something very special.

A rare opportunity to purchase an exceptionally large, well-bred young horse with the temperament, professional foundation and versatility to go in any direction.

15.2 unregistered ID cross professionally started with his groundwork and has ongoing professional education weekly (price will go up with work) he has his wolf teeth removed 2 months ago and up to date with vaccinations, farrier and working and ready to further his education. Will make a fabulous allrounder. This horse has not been backed properly he has just been laid over and sat on and groundwork (lunging, long rein)

He is only for sale due to me just having a newborn and have a change in priorities now and a massive lack of time to back and produce him myself. This is a sad sale as he has had the same home for 2 years and I was looking forward to putting my stamp on him but unfortunately now I need something older that will not need work everyday. I have found a sarcoid on his chest which price reflects this.

Fine to box and worm, he can snatch his back feet when picked up and can be stroppy at times.
